Sharmill Films giveaway: National Theatre’s Othello

OTHELLO
By William Shakespeare
Captured live in HD as part of National Theatre Live

National Theatre Live is an initiative by the National Theatre to broadcast live performances onto cinema screens around the world, and delayed captured live in HD screenings in Australia. The next presentation will feature a major new production of William Shakespeare’s celebrated play about the destructive power of jealousy.

Othello, newly married to Desdemona who is half his age, is appointed leader of a military operation to defend Cyprus from the Turks. Iago, his ensign, passed over for promotion in favour of young Cassio, persuades Othello that Cassio and Desdemona are having an affair. Adrian Lester (ABC TV’s Hustle) takes the title role of Othello, with Rory Kinnear (Skyfall, Quantum of Solace) as the duplicitous Iago.

‘A breathtaking show of emotional firepower. Adrian Lester and Rory Kinnear are superb.’The Times (UK)

Witty, agile, lucid and deeply felt. A gripping production.’Daily Telegraph (UK)

Othello will screen in over 30 cinemas nationally for a strictly limited season from 12 October. Watch the trailer.
