Beyond the screen dream of Rome – immortalised by Hollywood when Gregory Peck took Audrey Hepburn on the Vespa ride of her life in William Wyler’s 1953 Roman Holiday – the Eternal City continues to exist in the collective cinematic imagination. Looking as far back as the 1950s, to films by Federico Fellini, Michelangelo Antonioni and Pier Paolo Pasolini, among others, this film season explores nostalgic and contemporary visions of Rome on screen.
