Andy Warhol’s famous portrait series of ten iconic 20th-century Jewish figures are exhibited in their screenprinted brilliance at the Jewish Museum of Australia – Gandel Centre of Judaica. This exhibition explores Warhol’s creation of the celebrity image and his selection process behind his Jewish geniuses.
This exhibition includes original works borrowed from a range of international lenders, based as far apart as New York, Israel and Vienna. With thanks to the National Gallery of Victoria and other private lenders, the Jewish Museum of Australia has been able to include some rarely seen artworks by Warhol, adding a uniquely Australian flavour. Whilst the exhibition focuses on the original series of ten works, a new section is included exploring Warhol’s work in more detail through multimedia, graphics, props and much more.
We have five double passes to give away to Arts House eNews subscribers. To be in the draw, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org including your name and postal address, with ‘WARHOL GIVEAWAY’ in the subject line!
